Elex is a surprisingly good open-world action-RPG, but unfortunately it has a lot of rough edges and weird idiosyncrasies that can be difficult for new players to figure out. This video is a guide with tips and tricks to help new and prospective players understand some of the game's more obscure mechanics so that you can hopefully have a better time with the game's rough and sometimes daunting beginning. This video is based on my original written article from November 2017, with updated sections added based on my recent replay. 00:00 Introduction 02:27 Elex has a very steep difficulty curve. It is intentional. 03:29 Save now, save often. 04:08 Avoid combat early on, level up by completing quests. 05:26 Focus early skill points on combat and money-making. 07:45 Learn the "Animal Trophies" skill as soon as possible. 08:39 Attributes don't give the benefits they suggest. 09:30 Attribute costs increase as your attributes increase. 10:14 You can increase attributes and skills with jewelry, but there's a catch. 11:30 Get a companion as soon as possible. 12:48 Time your attacks to take advantage of the combo system. 14:50 Consider putting a skill point into Stamina. 15:37 Make sure "Close Combat Focus" is set to "Manual." 16:57 If you don't like melee combat, use ranged options. 18:21 Join a faction sooner, rather than later. 19:16 Periodically advance the main quest. Don't put it off. 20:28 Understand how the "Cold" meter works. 21:41 You have a jetpack. Но сегодня на нашем операционном столе находится самая неоднозначная игра Пираний - Elex. Совершенно новый тайтл, который должен был развеять миф о том, что студия стала заложником одной игры. A small spiel in favor of Piranha Bites' polarizing 2017 Open World RPG, Elex. Note: I kept this mostly early-ish game footage to avoid spoilers for those who want to play the game. A review/critique/analysis of Elex, comparing and contrasting it with other open-world action-adventure RPGs Skyrim and The Witcher 3. With Elex 2 just on the horizon, I wanted to take a closer look at the first game and shine a spotlight on some of its more notable design features for which I feel it doesn't get enough credit, in hopes of maybe drumming up interest in Elex 2 and the series in general. While not a perfect game, Elex gets a lot of important things right, I feel, which makes it a much more compelling and enjoyable experience for me than other, similar games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3. This video is designed to be as spoiler-free as possible for all games (I won't be ruining any major story elements or plot twists or going into detail examining the main quest-line for each game, in other words), but I will be showing outcomes to certain individual side quests and specific situations in order to showcase how the games treat their mechanics and subject matter. I consider these to be minor and inconsequential to one's enjoyment of the games, and thus should not have any adverse effect on the experience should you choose to watch this video and then play any of the three games for the first time thereafter. No need to go over kill on Elex potions, with the ones we’ve taken there’s still plenty of time to to lower your cold stat down and become more human by the end (if that’s what you want to do).* skill points explained!! Chemistry: This is required in order to craft chems and potions like the Elex drinks (Crafting trainer) Extra Hitpoints: flat increase of +10 health when you buy it, and then an additional +5 health for every character level up. THIS IS A MUST GET, and DO IT EARLY! It’s free permanent health every time your character naturally levels up (Survival trainer) Stamina: flat increase of +20 stamina per skill level (Survival trainer) Armor: flat increase of +5 armor per skill level (Survival trainer) Melee Weapons: increase dmg by 10% per skill level (Combat trainer) Attack Strength: flat increase of +10 per skill level to stagger power for melee weapons only (Combat trainer) Parry Strength: flat increase of +10 knock-back reduction, this reduces the stagger/knock-back on yourself when fighting and even works when you’re not blocking, it also lets you block for less stamina (Combat trainer) Ranged Weapons: increase dmg by 10% per skill level (Combat trainer) Cold Level explained!! You can view your cold level at the bottom right of the stats screen, it won’t show an exact number, it just says your current personality. So use the chart below to help determine what you’re at (Probably Neutral if you’ve followed my guide) Cold Level——Personality———Ability Influence 0 Pure Emotion Emotional 1 - 10 Expressive Emotional 11 - 20 Irrational Emotional 21 - 30 Spontaneous N/A 31 - 40 Intuitive N/A 41 - 59 Neutral Balanced 60 - 69 Dispassionate N/A 70 - 79 Mellow N/A 80 - 89 Logical Synthetic 90 - 99 Ice Cold Synthetic 100 + Synthetic Synthetic *Emotional Influence = Bonus to magic, PSI and Stim duration *Balanced Influence = A 20% bonus to melee damage *Synthetic Influence = A 20% bonus to ranged damage -Your characters cold level will start at 50 which keeps you in the “Neutral” category. Neutral is between a cold value of 41 to 59. While you’re within neutral your character gains the Ability Influence “Balanced” for a 20% bonus to melee damage (really good!) -Increasing or decreasing your cold stat happens from the dialog choices you make while playing, or eating certain items -The only way to decrease it is by choosing the most “human” dialog choice -Increasing is from choosing the most “logical” choice, or by consuming Elex potion drinks / natural Elex -Elex drinks / natural Elex will raise your cold stat by 0.1. So this means from a brand new fresh game we can technically consume 90 items worth and still be just within the “Neutral” category -If you’re going for a low cold to neutral play through, I would only recommend consuming the 90ish potions once, and then spend the rest of the game lowering it by choosing the most human response -If you want to play as an emotionless cold hearted person (aka the Jason Statham style), then drink as many Elex potions as you wish Thanks again everyone, I hope this was helpful

Шестнадцать лет назад немецкие разработчики из piranha bytes совершили невозможное. Их «Готика» выбилась из потока бюджетных экшен-РПГ, получила культовый статус и увлекла десятки тысяч игроков. Она поражала выверенной механикой, отлично проработанными диалогами и реиграбельностью. Её сиквел даже превзошёл оригинал. Затем вышла неудачная третья часть, а потом ещё три игры в другой вселенной, но подозрительно похожие на всё ту же Готику. А теперь вышла Elex — с мечами, пушками и несколькими сеттингами в одном флаконе. Подробнее: 🤍 Ну что господа, собственно Piranha Bytes и THQ Nordic сразу после окончания E3 2021 таки взяли и под шумок выкатили анонсирующий трейлер Elex 2, который пришелся игрокам весьма по душе. Еще бы - ведь трейлер был крайне динамичный плюс еще и Джонатан Девис из легендарных Korn записал эксклюзивный трек для Elex 2. В общем видно, что THQ Nordic видимо, после не зашедшего народу Biomutant решили пулять тяжелой артиллерией. Дату выхода сиквела Elex правда пока так и не опубликовали, однако у меня не остается сомнений, что ее объявят ближе к выставке gamescom 2021 , которая будет проходить в 20 числах августа и что игру почти наверняка выпустят до конца 2021 года. И вот на волне хайпа от анонсирующего трейлера многие игроки задались вопросом - а стоит ли вообще проходить первый Elex , если ты в него до этого ни разу не играл или пропустил Elex из своего поля зрения по той или иной причине. Все таки как никак, а прошло с момента выхода первой части почти целых 4 года, а это в игровой индустрии целая вечность. И сегодня в этом видео я как раз таки помогу таким людям, которые еще не играли в первую часть и раздумывают - А стоит ли играть в Elex в 2021 году ? В общем сейчас все подробно и популярно разъясню.
