Zara Larsson [Verse 1] I’ve been hearin' symphonies Before, all I heard was silence A rhapsody for you and me And every melody is timeless Life was stringin' me along Then you came and you cut me loose Was solo, singin' on my own Now I can’t find the key without you [Pre-Chorus] And now your song is on repeat And I’m dancin' on to your heartbeat And when you’re gone, I feel incomplete So, if you want the truth [Chorus] I just wanna be part of your symphony Will you hold me tight and not let go? Symphony Like a love song on the radio Will you hold me tight and not let go? [Verse 2] I’m sorry if it’s all too much Every day you’re here, I’m healin' And I was runnin' outta luck I never thought I’d find this feelin' 'Cause I’ve been hearin' symphonies Before all I heard was silence A rhapsody for you and me (A rhapsody for you and me) And every melody is timeless [Pre-Chorus] And now your song is on repeat And I’m dancin' on to your heartbeat And when you’re gone, I feel incomplete So, if you want the truth [Chorus] I just wanna be part of your symphony Will you hold me tight and not let go? Symphony Like a love song on the radio Will you hold me tight and not let go? [Interlude] Ah, ah, ah, ah-ah-ah, ah, ah, ah Ah, ah, ah, ah-ah-ah, ah, ah, ah [Pre-Chorus] And now your song is on repeat And I’m dancin' on, to your heartbeat And when you’re gone, I feel incomplete So if you want the truth (Oh) [Chorus] I just wanna be part of your symphony Will you hold me tight and not let go? In Tempo des Scherzos Orquesta Reino de Aragón, Íñigo Pirfano Soloists: Orfeón Donostiarra, José Antonio Sainz Alfaro, Lorenzo Ramos, Carmen Solis, Maria Jose Montiel A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, most often for orchestra. Although the term has had many meanings from its origins in the ancient Greek era, by the late 18th century the word had taken on the meaning common today: a work usually consisting of multiple distinct sections or movements, often four, with the first movement in sonata form. Symphonies are almost always scored for an orchestra consisting of a string section (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments which altogether number about 30 to 100 musicians. Symphonies are notated in a musical score, which contains all the instrument parts. Orchestral musicians play from parts which contain just the notated music for their own instrument. Some symphonies also contain vocal parts (e.g., Beethoven's Ninth Symphony). A frenzy of timbres: Sergei Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27, performed by the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden under the baton of Antonio Pappano. The concert took place in the Semperoper Dresden in 2018. The second symphony by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873 - 1943) could also be called his "Dresden Symphony" since Rachmaninoff wrote the symphonic work in 1906/07 in Dresden, where his family had spent the winter months for three consecutive years. The premiere of Symphony No. 2 took place again in St. Petersburg in 1908 under the composer's direction and was a great success, which Rachmaninoff was in dire need of, since the premiere of his first symphony in 1897 had been a debacle and had plunged him into depression and a deep creative crisis. All the more astonishing was the great success he had with his 2nd Symphony. This may be due, on the one hand, to the balance that characterizes the form of each of the four movements. But above all, it is the symphony's tonal colours that give it an incomparable radiance. Through lush orchestration and varied combinations of instrumental groups, the orchestra's tonal possibilities come into their own. In the past, Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 was often performed in an abridged version. Here, the Staatskapelle Dresden plays it completely authentically – in its unabridged original version and at the location of its creation. (00:00) Rachmaninoff: Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27 (00:25) I. Largo - Allegro moderato (19:23) II. Allegro molto (29:50) III Adagio (44:19) IV. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote his Symphony No. 40 in G minor, KV. 550, in 1788. It is sometimes referred to as the "Great G minor symphony," to distinguish it from the "Little G minor symphony," No. 25. The two are the only minor key symphonies Mozart wrote. The 40th Symphony was completed on 25 July 1788. The composition occupied an exceptionally productive period of just a few weeks in 1788, during which time he also completed the 39th and 41st symphonies (26 June and 10 August, respectively). The symphony is scored (in its revised version) for flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, and strings. Notably missing are trumpets and timpani. The work is in four movements, in the usual arrangement (fast movement, slow movement, minuet, fast movement) for a classical-style symphony: 1. Molto allegro, 2/2 2. Andante, 6/8 3. Menuetto. Allegretto Trio, 3/4 4. Finale. Allegro assai, 2/2. Every movement but the third is in sonata form; the minuet and trio are in the usual ternary form. This work has elicited varying interpretations from critics. Robert Schumann regarded it as possessing "Grecian lightness and grace". Donald Francis Tovey saw in it the character of opera buffa. Almost certainly, however, the most common perception today is that the symphony is tragic in tone and intensely emotional; for example, Charles Rosen (in The Classical Style) has called the symphony "a work of passion, violence, and grief." Although interpretations differ, the symphony is unquestionably one of Mozart's most greatly admired works, and it is frequently performed and recorded. Ludwig van Beethoven knew the symphony well, copying out 29 measures from the score in one of his sketchbooks. It is thought that the opening theme of the last movement may have inspired Beethoven in composing the third movement of his Fifth Symphony. - FREE .mp3 and .wav files of all Mozart's music at: 🤍 FREE sheet music scores of any Mozart piece at: 🤍 ALSO check out these cool sites: 🤍 and 🤍 - NOTE: I do not know who the performers of this are, nor the place and date of recording!!! Larghetto (1:51:36) - Budapest Scoring Symphonic Orchestra Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. Born in Salzburg, Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. Mozart was engaged as a musician at the Salzburg court, but grew restless and traveled in search of a better position. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his early death at the age of 35. The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He composed more than 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers, and his influence is profound on subsequent Western art music. Ludwig van Beethoven composed his own early works in the shadow of Mozart, and Joseph Haydn wrote: "posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years". It is a masterly interpretation of a divine symphony: The Jupiter Symphony (Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, played here by the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chamber Orchestra conducted by Hartmut Haenchen. The symphonic classic was performed at the Konzerthaus Berlin in 2005 as part of a Mozart evening. What is special about this particular interpretation is the reduced size of the ensemble, as a result of which the diverse characteristics of Mozart’s symphony vividly emerge. (00:00) I. Allegro vivace (11:15) II. Andante cantabile (19:13) III. Menuetto. Allegretto-Trio (22:53) IV. Finale. Molto allegro Symphony No. 41 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) only posthumously received the emblematic epithet ‘Jupiter’. The name started to appear in concert programs in England more than 30 years after its composition and was considered so fitting that soon people spoke only of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony. The combination of the supreme Roman god Jupiter with Mozart’s radiant and clear musical language is considered an excellent fit to this day. Mozart completed the composition of his Symphony in C major in August 1788. Depending on how they are counted, it is the last of Mozart’s 41 symphonies. Its genesis is connected with two other symphonies: Mozart had written three symphonies of very different character in just six weeks in the summer of 1788. While Mozart himself actually saw himself as an opera composer, he had probably only composed the symphonies because he once again needed money for his less than modest lifestyle. It is all the more astonishing that all three symphonies are still among the highlights of classical music today, and the Jupiter Symphony in particular is considered the pinnacle of Mozart’s instrumental music. Mozart’s perfectly formed and at the same time playful handling of the themes is universally admired, and the clarity of the structure is regarded as the epitome of musical beauty. The final movement of the 41st Symphony is unusual in that its outward form reveals a sonata scheme with exposition, development, recapitulation and coda, but its inner structure is a fugue with five themes. The themes each have a very different character, so that their mutual interplay seems like a comedic performance. Because of the dense counterpoint of the fourth movement, Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 has even been called the ‘symphony with the final fugue’. © EuroArts Music International Watch more concerts in your personal concert hall: 🤍 Subscribe to DW Classical Music: 🤍 #Mozart #MozartSymphony #Symphony

The Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World", Op. 95, B. 178 (Czech: Symfonie č. 9 e moll „Z nového světa“), popularly known as the New World Symphony, was composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It is by far his most popular symphony, and one of the most popular of all symphonies. In older literature and recordings, this symphony was – as for its first publication – numbered as Symphony No. 5. Astronaut Neil Armstrong took a tape recording of the New World Symphony along during the Apollo 11 mission, the first Moon landing, in 1969. The symphony was completed in the building that now houses the Bily Clocks Museum. The piece has four movements: 1. Adagio — Allegro molto 2. Largo 3. Scherzo. Molto vivace 4. It is one of the most popular symphonies ever: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55, also called Eroica. Here it is performed by the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Boder at the Beethovenfest Bonn 2021 at the World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB). (00:00) Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55, Eroica (00:36) I. Allegro con brio (17:38) II. Marcia funebre (Adagio assai) (30:18) III. Scherzo (Allegro vivace) (36:03) IV. Finale: Allegro molto - Poco andante – Presto Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) began planning his Symphony No. 3 in the fall of 1802, composing most of it in 1803, and probably not completing it until early 1804. The private premiere happened in the same year. The first public performance took place on April 7, 1805 and was conducted by Beethoven himself. Because of the epithet ‘Eroica’ (the Heroic one), Beethoven’s third symphony is commonly linked to Napoleon. However, Beethoven’s relationship to Napoleon was rather ambivalent: on the one hand, he was fascinated by Napoleon’s ideals, but at the same time he was deeply repelled by the fact that he had proclaimed himself emperor. Later, however, Beethoven is said to have revered Napoleon. His ambivalent attitude is also evidenced by the addition of the words “written on Bonaparte” to the copy of the score, which he initially erased, but later added in again. It is also unknown, however, who the hero could be to whom Beethoven dedicated the Eroica with the words “Sinfonia Eroica composta per celebrare la morte d’un Eroe”. Researchers doubt that he could have meant Napoleon. Whatever the case, Beethoven dedicated his third symphony to a hero whose funeral he commemorates in the second movement with a brilliant funeral march and who he resurrects triumphantly at the end of the fourth movement. Perhaps it is precisely this range of emotions, from serious, deepest mourning to joyfully enthusiastic exaltation that makes Beethoven’s Eroica so appealing. Franz Schubert’s “Great” symphony (D 944) could also be called the “Long” symphony – since for many years it was considered the longest orchestral work of all time. The Austrian composer himself, however, never got to hear this Symphony in C major. It was not premiered until eleven years after his death by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under the baton of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Robert Schumann had discovered it in Schubert’s musical estate and immediately recognized its artistic value. In this video, Schubert’s “Great” symphony is performed by the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marek Janowski. The renowned German orchestra celebrated its 150th anniversary with this concert in 2020. (00:00) I. Andante. Allegro ma non troppo (17:20) II. Andante con moto (31:35) III. Scherzo. Allegro vivace – Trio (45:20) IV. Finale. Allegro vivace Franz Schubert (1797-1828) composed more than 600 songs in his short life (he lived to be just 31 years old). He often used poems from his time as a textual basis. For example, he set Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s famous ballad “Erlkönig” to music. But Schubert did not want to have the reputation of being a mere composer of songs. He began writing symphonies at a young age, some of which remained fragments, but seven of which he completed, the Great Symphony in C major being the last. The New Schubert Edition designates it as his Symphony No. 8. Schubert’s 8th was probably composed in the summer of 1825 under the overpowering impression of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, although some scholars think that it was not completed until 1828, the year of Schubert’s death. Whatever the case, in his “Great” symphony Schubert succeeds in freeing himself from Beethoven’s shadow and composing an entirely independent, monumental symphonic work that would go on to set the tone for the symphonic genre. German conductor Marek Janowski (*1939) is one of the best-known and most successful orchestra conductors of our time. He is known to be unusually precise and efficient. His international opera and concert activities have taken him to all the world’s great concert halls. He conducted the Dresden Philharmonic from 2001-2003 and has done so again since 2019. The Dresden Philharmonic was founded as the “Gewerbehaus-Kapelle” by the city of Dresden on November 29, 1871. The name refers to the hall where the orchestra performed at that time. Since 1923, the orchestra has been called the “Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra”. In its long history, it has been led by numerous famous composers and conductors, including Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Antonín Dvořák. Shortly after the orchestra’s founding, its musicians started to travel abroad for concerts, even performing in the United States in 1909. The sound of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra was particularly shaped by Kurt Masur, who was its musical director from 1955 to 1972. On November 29, 2020, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its 150th anniversary. The festive concert, a part of which can be seen here, unfortunately took place without an audience due to the Covid pandemic. Available now: 🤍 Lyrics: I got a long way to go And a long memory I been searching for an answer Always just out of reach Blood on the floor Sirens repeat I been searching for the courage To face my enemies When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake For my battle symphony They say that I don’t belong Say that I should retreat That I’m marching to the rhythm Of a lonesome defeat But the sound of your voice Puts the pain in reverse No surrender, no illusions And for better or worse When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake If I fall, get knocked down Pick myself up off the ground When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake For my battle symphony Battle Symphony (Official Lyric Video) - Linkin Park
